October Run Down

Clearly we have slacked in the world of blogging for way too long. I just thought I'd write a little about our lives over the last 3 months.

October rushed in quickly with a celebration of my birthday and lots of canning. Joseph got me a sewing machine and I was (and still am) so excited about it. I didn't know how to sew really, except that my sister-in-law helped me make a blanket for Austin while I was in Portland, so I knew I could sew a straight line. I am so excited for the opportunities this will give me to personalize my home and grow my talents. Joseph also tried to take me out to dinner - just the two of us - but Austin's nap schedule just didn't work out so we ended up taking him along. It was the first time he threw silverware across a room... well, he slid it across the table, but it was still loud and slightly embarrassing. Still, it was wonderful to be together.

That night, after our dinner, Sarah & Cuyler dropped by for presents and a long night of canning. I can't remember if that was the night of the peaches, pears, or tomatoes, but I'm inclined to say it was pears. What a long, crazy night that was... but we conquered those 35 pounds of pears, and we are now enjoying the literal fruits of our labors.

We moved to a new house a week or two after that. It is all such a blur I can't even remember the exact moving day. It was sad to leave our friends and our ward, but so nice to move into a house. I'm still relishing in the fact that I don't have to haul Austin up and down 3 flights of stairs every time we go somewhere.

We ended the month with pumpkin carving with Sarah & Cuyler and our ward Halloween party where we represented BYU football. Can you guess who we are?

Oh, and Austin learned to crawl this month. He was so excited about it he'd crawl right out of his pants and not even realize it. Oh, the joys of being mobile.

I love that Austin crawled out of his pants! Love your BYU family Halloween costume. And most of all SOOO happy for you to not have to haul Austin up three flights of stairs anymore! I don't know how you did it for so long.

I also think your BYU costumes rock! Austin looks so cute with the face paint. Glad you had a good birthday!
