June 6th was my first temple wedding shoot! It was so much fun. I flew in to California the day before the wedding and my mom and I walked around the temple grounds so I could find some good places to shoot the couple the next day. I found a lot of great locations, but learned that you will not have time to do everything you want to do when you are shooting a wedding. There are so many people and not much time to work with, that you just kind of have to go with the flow and just do what you can. It turned out great, I just wish I had more time to shoot all of the shots I had in my head!

I also shot pictures at their outdoor reception. This was really fun too, but also a challenge because the evening gives you lots of beautifully soft but als

o quickly changing light. There is so much to know! And it's a good thing I didn't fall into the pool while taking pictures (like I honestly thought I was about to do at one point) because that might have ruined that "professional" look I am going for.

The happy couple did have some of my photos on display at the reception, from the engagement and bridal shoot, and one from the wedding... and a couple of people even approached me to find out if I had a business card they could have, or to let me know they would consider me for their wedding in the somewhat near future, so I must be doing a pretty good job!

Laura that's so awesome! Sheesh, if I had any eye for photography you'd be my inspiration to start my own business.
