Protect Marriage

Although I no longer live in California, it is my home state and I feel an obligation to help in the effort of protecting marriage. In 2000 the same issue was on the ballot in California, and 61% of citizens voted that marriage is between a man and a woman. This year, 4 California Supreme Court judges overturned this vote and legalized same-sex marriage in California. The First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has asked that members in California sacrifice their time and money for this issue in supporting Proposition 8 to protect marriage, which reads, "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid and recognized in California."

Now, whether we are in California or not, we can sign a petition to help support this issue. Please sign the petition by clicking here: Petition.

"We, the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children."
